How We Collect, Use and Disclose Your Information
When you speak with one of our advisors, you share personal information so that we may provide you with advice, products and services that best meet your needs. Upon becoming a client, you will sign an privacy statement that fully discloses our policy and the consent that you are providing.
It will be necessary for you to provide a variety of personal and financial information. This may include (but not limited to) income, assets and investments, health and lifestyle history, etc. The quality of the work undertaken requires this personal information be accurate and complete. It is further understood that in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you directly authorize and instruct ZIW to maintain information of a personal and private nature that could reasonably be considered pertinent or necessary in the provision of financial advice until such time as requested by the client in writing to destroy such information.
Accuracy of Information: In order to make appropriate recommendations, ZIW must receive accurate information. You may review the information retained about you upon request. ZIW will attempt to update the information on record to determine whether the recommendations are still appropriate in light of changes in your circumstances.
What We Will Do with Your Information: ZIW will analyze your current financial holdings to assess needs, provide financial/retirement analysis, and make recommendations. We will also use your information to communicate with you in a timely and efficient manner, or act as required by law. If the relationship with ZIW is terminated, your information will be stored for liability purposes only.
What We Will Not Do with Your Information: We do not sell customer information to anyone. Nor do we share customer information with organizations outside of our member companies that would use it to contact you about their own products or services.
Protection: All employees, MGAs and suppliers that are granted access to client records are required by law and regulation to keep this information protected and confidential and to use the information only for the purposes identified. ZIW has also established physical and systems safeguards, along with proper processes, to protect client information from unauthorized access or use.
Your Privacy Choices
You may also withdraw your implied consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual obligation and on providing us reasonable notice) by contacting our Privacy Officer. Please be aware that withdrawing your consent may prevent us from providing you with the requested product or service.
We may occasionally use your personal information to tell you about services or products that we believe may be of interest to you. If you would rather not receive this type of communication, please let us know through our Privacy Officer.
